The path that led you to where you are wasn’t easy either. Job hunting has got to be one of the most stressful, unexpected and complex processes of adult life. I definitely came unprepared. As a kid, it was kind of an obvious step-by-step. You send in your CV, you get an interview and congratulations! You’re in, and you love it. The first time I was ever faced with this reality was a couple of years after my first ever job. The company had some layoffs due to some change in management, and my position was affected. I thought it was no big deal. Plenty of companies in the world, and a new opportunity to get closer to my dream job scenario. You’re probably already thinking about it; I was wrong. The awakening here was a big one.
It was an adventure, going online day after day, looking for the perfect position. Working on my CV as if it were a makeover look. Getting advice left and right from people who didn’t remember how hard it actually was for them to get hired. I get it. They’re getting to know you, and you’re getting to know them. Like every other relationship in life, it has its ups and downs.

The first couple of months, it feels like part of the process. After that, it feels like no one will ever hire you. You start to panic. Is it your CV structure? Is it the way you write your e-mails? Is it that friendly joke you made during the interview to lighten the mood? Who knows. Your mind starts playing tricks on you, making you imagine the worst. Having been in that position recently myself, I've come to ease your thoughts. Take a breath, keep applying, and a good position will come your way. It is, in fact, all part of the process. Patience, a good TV show to keep you distracted, and some meditation could work too. You’re awesome, and you must remember Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither was your work experience.
In the meantime, so your wandering head doesn’t go off the rails, here’s a hilarious collection of job hunting memes. Think about it: it is a complex road filled with anxiety, but at least now you get to laugh twice as hard at these.
